Life lessons from a baby.
Life lessons from a baby.
Do these things like a baby.
Be excited to discover and explore the world like a baby.
Immediately my son wakes up, he searches the room looking for something to play with. Every trip to outside the house is an adventure. He loves meeting new people, as long as mom is holding him, he will give you a beautiful smile.
Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. Ever heard the saying “I slept like a baby.” A baby sleeps deep, so peacefully. They wake up well rested and full of energy. My son has the most energy like a sugar rush when he just wakes up. I sure hope your next sleep will be like a baby.
Love like a baby.
The purest form of love is from a baby. You are a babys first love. And you set an example for many years to come on how to show love. The little cuddles, dependance on you, beautiful smiles, full trust in you, starry eyes from your little one are their way of showing you love. My baby always looks up at me for approval when a stranger talks to him. When I step out to take a shower or do something wihtout him. I am greeted by this huge smile like he hasn’t seen me in days. He notices me when I’m not sarry him in a room full of people. He always gives me a smile when he sees me. When he is crying, he immediately soothes down when daddy and I hold him. Other people will try to sooth him in vain. He easily notices when I am not in the room.
Be real like a baby.
A baby shows more emotion. S/He doesn’t know how to pretend or fake it. When s/he is happy, sad, angry and does not like something they will let you know.
Don’t let things weigh you down. A baby can be crying so loudly and laughing the next minute. A baby does not keep grudges. In any sense s/he cries for the person who upset him or her. Its like a way of assurance to them that you still love or care for them.
Believe like a baby. A baby will believe anything you tell him or her. As adults we tend to question everything. Sometimes we just need to believe and add a little magic. Don’t be naive though.

Play, invent, create and use your imagination. A child is the most creative and inventive person I know. Give him or her a box and it becomes a spaceship. Odd things become toys for a baby. Be creative like a baby. Don’t limit your imagination.
Discern like a baby.
A baby always senses someone with a good heart and bad heart. Thats why s/he will accept some people to carry him or her and refuse other people. A little discernment could help us meet the right people, you know.
Smile and laugh like a baby. A baby smiles and laughs even when s/he is not well. Theres never a dull moment in a babys life.
Forgive like a baby. A baby easily forgives. He can be crying this moment because you had a mom fail. Baby forgives and moves forward in less than 5 minutes. Forgiveness benefits you as a person, as you move forward in peace and that bad bitterness does not eat you inside.
Finally Don’t give up, keep striving like a baby.
I watch my son go through standing, crawling and now walking at 8 months. He never gave up. He fell so many times, he still falls down but hasn’t given up. If he gave up in army crawling, he would not be able to walk today.

I have some to add.
Listen to your body like a baby. Babies know when they need to eat, when they need to sleep and when they need to move their body. They have this ability until its trained out of them “you need to eat” “don’t waste your food” “just one more bite”
“sit still and pay attention”
And be non-judgemental like a baby. Baby doesn’t care what you look like, your race, religion or anything like that.
Theyll laugh with you, play with you and love you if you only treat them kindly.
Great read. I learned a lot from my son too.
Yes that’s an important point. Baby’s are non judgemental
Yes! So true! I wish I could approach every day with the same wonder and joy that my twins have for the simplest things- a piece of paper, a rattle! And their love is so pure and beautiful.
Thank you Stefanie. That’s a great way to start one’s day by approaching life with wonder and joy
Great perspective. We’re always in such a rush and trying to get things done quickly that we forget. I’ll need to start approaching things this way.
Thank you for stopping by,Jenny. It takes a little practice
This is such a fun and thoughtful post! I never thought of things this way but it makes a lot of sense!
This is perfect! I will definitely try to incorporate these lessons in my daily life! ?
Thank you Anh. I hope you try
This is a super cute list! There is an endless amount of honest and love that a baby/toddler gives you that sadly you don’t give yourself (or to other people). Even though we are supposed to be the ‘teachers’ they often teach us just as much as we teach them ?
I feel baby teaches me more even though he can’t speak much lol. Thank you for stopping by Susan.
this is beautiful!! i LOVE watching my babies grow, learn, play, investigate, and discover. my favorites are ‘be real’ and forgive. i can take a page from that book for sure. good post very unique, i love it.
I learn alot watching him grow. Thank you Clare
This is a beautiful list. I love how you have captured the wisdom and love of babies. I have grown more in the past 15 months of being a mom than I did in the 28 years prior combined. They are so wonderful.
I have also matured more. Thank you Sarah
Love this – simple yet profound. Lessons from a baby are always perfect. If we could only always see the world through the eyes of a child.
Yes you said it exactly right to see the world through a child’s eyes
There is no love like a baby’s love. I just hope I am able to show my daughter the same love. This was great!
